KEEP UC: ACCESSIBLE AFFORDABLE EXCELLENT

In solidarity with public education workers, students, and families across the state of California from K-Phd, UC-AFT has endorsed the March 4th Statewide Day of Action as an essential response to the systematic defunding of education by our state.

We demand that public education be recognized as a public good and that funding for education become a priority for the State of California.

In solidarity with UC faculty, staff, students, and families, UC-AFT is committed to protecting access, affordability and quality at UC through restoration of UC’s commitment to undergraduate education as outlined in the California Master Plan for Higher Education.

·      We demand transparency in the UC budget and an independent audit of UC’s finances

·      We demand that UC rehire Non-Senate Faculty and restore courses

·      We demand that library budgets be restored and library service be extended

·      We demand an end to Yudof’s emergency powers and a reinvigoration of shared governance, including full enfranchisement of non-senate faculty in governance
